As does gravity and reduced elasticity of the skin.  From the age of 40, fatty tissue in the face shrivels up little by little, and this phenomenon is especially visible around eyes and mouth. Our understanding of ageing and what to do about it has changed.<\/p>\n<p>The mini facelift tightens sagging skin back up. Think neck, corners of the mouth and 'hamster cheeks'.  However, a lift does not address the disappearance of this subcutaneous fat tissue, nor does it do anything to improve the quality of the skin.<\/p>\n<p>Lipofilling places the lost fatty tissue back the face. Lipofilling makes the difference between a successful facelift and a particularly successful one. The fatty tissue is removed in places where you want to get rid of it, for example abdomen, hips or inside of the knee. This is done using liposculpture. The aspirated fat is filtered until only fat cells remain. Then, these fat cells are injected back in. This is done with a fine needle. For example, around eyes and cheeks.  Or in wrinkles. To rejuvenate.  Or in breasts.  To enlarge.  An alternative to breast prostheses. The technique is constantly being refined so that more cells survive the fat transfer. Jaw line, upper and lower lip, marionette jowl and the nasolabial fold are also rewarding areas. But breasts and buttocks are also possible, to enlarge them as an alternative to silicone implants.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tDoes lipofilling take place under anaesthesia?\n\t\t\t\t<p>Lipofilling is done under local anaesthesia with or without sedation, in day clinic, under monitoring by electrocardiogram. Thus, you do not have the unpleasant drawbacks of general anaesthesia. One returns home the same day. An overnight stay is not necessary. Any pain is controlled with paracetamol and ibuprofen. The face is swollen for the first few days, with some yellow-blue spots. This is normal. We do extensive lipofillings, such as of breasts and buttocks, under general anaesthesia.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tHow soon can I be treated?\n\t\t\t\t<p>Belgian healthcare does not have waiting lists. Depending on the procedure, you can be treated within a month.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tHow long does the fat stay in place with lipofilling?\n\t\t\t\t<p>The fat used is the body's own. Therefore, it is not shed. However, some fat cells do not survive the treatment. Therefore, a slight overcorrection is always performed. After 2 years, a small 'touch-up' or refill may be indicated.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tAftercare after my aesthetic procedure, by whom is it done?\n\t\t\t\t<p>The aftercare after your aesthetic procedure is done only by your own plastic surgeon. It is not necessary to have a nurse come to your home.  After all, the care after an aesthetic procedure requires a specialised and specific approach. Immediately after your operation Dr. Patrick Dedoncker will give you an appointment for a first check-up. This way your plastic surgeon can assess the first results of your operation himself. The first check-up usually takes place within a week. In the meantime, you do not have to do anything. The bandage is left nicely closed for healing until then.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tSo what can nanofat be used for already?\n\t\t\t\t<p>Nanofat is used for very fine wrinkles around the mouth. Wrinkles that are too fine to fill with a filler.<br \/>Or for dark eyelids. A problem in young people sometimes. Wrinkle d\u00e9collet\u00e9 and wrinkle neck are also possible applications. Nanofat gives the skin back its vitality.  Chronic wounds heal thanks to nanofat. So there are other applications besides rejuvenation.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tHow much can you inject with lipofilling?\n\t\t\t\t<p>In the face, this is 20 to 50 cc. So this is much more than with pharmaceutical fillers, such as hyaluronic acid and collagen, where it is per 1 cc. Fat cells are endogenous and harmless. The source is virtually inexhaustible in most people. From 1 litre of fat, one gets 100 cc of usable cells.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tCan lipofilling be done elsewhere than on the face?\n\t\t\t\t<p>Yes. Lipofilling can be an alternative to breast augmentation with implants. Or for buttock augmentation. It involves hundreds of cc's being injected. This requires extensive liposculpture of the body to harvest all that fat. The prerequisite is that there is sufficient fat. Skinny people do not qualify.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tCan lipofilling also be done in summer?\n\t\t\t\t<p>Yes. Sun exposure is not a problem, at least once the bruises have disappeared<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tFilling wrinkles with your own fat\n\t\t\t\t<p>Using a fine needle, fat cells are injected into large deep wrinkles of forehead, cheeks, mouth and neck. This is lipofilling of wrinkles. The fat is used as a filler and it is an inexpensive alternative to hyaluronic acid.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tNanofat grafting \/ stem cells \/ grafting with nano fat\n\t\t\t\t<p>Stem cells are mother cells, from which all other cells spring, including skin cells. A few years ago, stem cells were discovered to rejuvenate the skin : fine wrinkles become smooth, skin quality improves and dark pigmentations disappear.  How exactly this works is still a mystery for now. It has to do with growth factors. Fat is packed with stem cells and growth factors. It is also easy to obtain because it is abundant under the skin as a pad.  Fat can be easily harvested by aspiration or liposculture. Stem cells and growth factors are then filtered out to be injected back in during the same procedure. Usually in the face and neck.  To improve skin quality.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tWhen will I see the result of nanofat?\n\t\t\t\t<p>While a minilift and laser peel give an almost immediate result, the action of stem cells and growth factors is slower.  The result is only after 6 months.
