Treatment
Pregnancy, weight loss, breastfeeding and old age can affect the firmness of the breasts, causing them to sag and droop. When breasts have not only sagged but also lost volume, a breast lift combined with breast augmentation offers the solution. During this procedure, the breasts are lifted and enlarged at the same time by placing an implant behind the pectoral muscle. This gives the breasts a firmer, fuller and more youthful appearance.
How does a breast lift happen?
In this combined procedure, the bosom undergoes a complete metamorphosis. The plastic surgeon models the mammary gland in the desired shape and fixes it to the pectoral muscle for a permanent result. Excess skin is removed, the nipple is raised and possibly reduced in size. At the same time, an implant is inserted to create additional volume. This provides not only a lifting effect, but also a fuller and natural-looking breast shape.

The right guidance for the right choice
The right size
Most women choose a natural volume, usually between 200 and 350 cc. For a deeper cleavage, 350-500cc or more may be appropriate. Within the same volume, there are different profiles :
High profile : narrower, protrudes more forward, suitable for a narrow chest, more rounded look.
Low profile : wider, flatter, natural look.
Normal profile : compromise between the two.
The right shape
Round implants are more flexible and therefore easier to place through a smaller incision. They are cheaper and give the breast a nice round shape with extra padding at the top, which is ideal for a flatter upper part of the breast.
Anatomical implants have a teardrop shape that ensures a natural result. They are slightly more expensive and trickier to place due to the firmer gel, but offer a subtle and elegant look.
The right filling
Silicone implants are filled with a cohesive gel that feels natural and is leak- and crack-free. This makes them reliable and most popular.
Water-filled implants (saline) are filled with saline solution during surgery. They feel less natural and have a risk of leaking, so they are hardly used these days. New, experimental fillings are not used because of unknown long-term effects.
The right manufacturer
For your safety, we use A-brand implants only that meet the highest quality standards. These implants offer a 10-year warranty.
It is essential to do not skimp on quality of an implant because it is permanently present in your body. We therefore select only manufacturers with a proven track record and the highest reliability.
Important information
Scar
With a breast lift with augmentation, a scar is inevitable. Thanks to the 'vertical scar technique', it is limited to a vertical line from the nipple downwards. The former anchor-shaped scar is thus largely eliminated. The scar around the nipple fades over time and remains discreet.
Possible risks
In general, this procedure is very safe. However, there are some risks, such as:
Reduced wound healing in smokers or overweight people.
Temporary or permanent change in nipple sensitivity.
Small chance of capsule formation around the implant.
Recovery
You will leave the clinic on the same day of surgery.
After two days, the wound drain is removed and you are given a new dressing.
Pain is minimal and can be relieved with classic painkillers such as ibuprofen or paracetamol.
You can resume work after one week, but physical exertion should be avoided for the first six weeks.
An elastic sports bra is advised for six weeks, after which normal lingerie can be worn.
Showers are possible after 2 weeks.
- All sutures are spontaneously digestible under the skin. The skin is glued.
Precautions
All our procedures are performed in the safest conditions by an experienced plastic surgeon.
A breast lift with augmentation is usually done under general anaesthesia or under local anaesthesia with sleeping sedation, depending on your surgeon's recommendation and your personal situation. During the procedure, you will be continuously monitored by the surgeon, with automatic blood pressure readings, constant oxygen saturation monitoring and an electrocardiogram.
The combination of a breast lift and prosthesis placement requires extra precision. That is why we use local anaesthesia to ensure not only a pain-free procedure, but also minimal blood loss and less bruising.
Important : are you taking blood-thinning medication? Please report this to your plastic surgeon in advance. This applies to medication such as acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin, asaflow, cardioaspirin), dipyridamole, plavix, sintrom, marevan and other blood thinners.
After the operation, you will receive your plastic surgeon's personal mobile number. This way, you always have a direct contact and can recover with peace of mind.
Anaesthetic
The procedure is performed under light general anaesthesia combined with local anaesthesia. As a result, you will feel fit after the operation and an overnight stay at the clinic is not necessary.
